Job description:

About Us

At The Luminous Learning Minds, we’re building something extraordinary—a preschool where wonder, movement, and imagination fuel joyful learning. Inspired by Montessori principles and powered by STEAM exploration, our program nurtures children ages 15 months to 6 years in a warm, intentionally designed environment that celebrates the whole child.

Children here are free to tinker, build, climb, create, dance, and discover—guided by caring educators and grounded in nature, rhythm, and play.

Your Role as a Lead Teacher

As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you are more than an educator—you are a co-creator of meaningful learning experiences. You’ll guide a group of curious, capable children through a hands-on, child-centered curriculum that nurtures their independence, creativity, and critical thinking.

Your role blends structure with exploration, building strong relationships with children and families while fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Design & Deliver engaging lessons rooted in Montessori and STEAM that spark curiosity and support the whole child.
  • Foster Independence and social-emotional growth through thoughtful routines, classroom leadership, and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Partner with Families through consistent, compassionate communication and regular check-ins and conferences.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Teams to maintain a joyful, organized, and respectful classroom environment.
  • Maintain a Beautiful Space that invites exploration, movement, and calm, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Ensure Compliance with all Washington DCYF licensing standards for safety, supervision, and curriculum.

What You Bring

  • A deep understanding of early childhood development and child-centered learning
  • Knowledge or experience with Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or nature-based education
  • A love for hands-on STEAM exploration and creative problem-solving
  • Enthusiasm for incorporating movement, mindfulness, and outdoor play
  • Strong communication, observation, and team collaboration skills
  • WA STARS 30-hour training or ECE Initial Certificate; CPR/First Aid, Food Handler’s Permit, and BBP certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a visionary early learning program at its foundational stage
  • Thrive in a supportive, creative, and mission-aligned environment
  • Enjoy small class sizes and a focus on emotional well-being—for children and staff
